Museum and art museum

The 250 km stretch of road connecting the base of the Daisetsu mountains to the Tokachi Plains is known as “The Hokkaido Garden Pass”. Along the road are eight breathtaking sightseeing gardens. There is also a park painstakingly built by a single person.
At the foot of the Daisetsu Mountains, there is an aquarium, fittingly known as the “Mountain Aquarium”. It’s said to be full of “bests in Japan” and “world firsts”. It includes opportunities to learn about the salmon Hokkaido is famous for, and the mysterious marimo algae balls of Lake Mashu.
