Okhotsk Sea Ice Museum of Hokkaido, GIZA
The GIZA science hall features a number of cleverly-arranged displays and videos to teach visitors all about drift ice. The arctic cold experience room replicates temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius, and visitors can touch the actual drift ice displayed here. The museum features a number of hands-on facilities. The sea ice aquarium, featuring real fish, shellfish, and seaweed under a layer of ice is a must-see. The facility is also a registered "Michi no Eki" (Roadside Station) and makes a great stop for dining or souvenir shopping.
