Seibi no Mori Museum
Amidst the breathtaking hillside of Biei, a closed elementary school has been reborn as an art museum. Permanent exhibits include works by Takaaki Enoki, an actor who is also well-respected as a painter, Katsuhiko Ohno, a poet and painter with two artificial hands, and Daijiro Yokoyama, an artist who suddenly passed away after moving to Biei. Works range in types from watercolor to poetry paintings and oil paintings, with each style bringing a unique warmth to the radiance of the museum. Even if you feel you are not familiar with the art, you will find something enjoyable here.
