Fukuhara Memorial Museum
With a great number of various pieces in its collection, it may be hard to believe that this is a private museum. In fact, the artworks displayed here were purchased through personal investment by Mr. Jihei Fukuhara, the founder of the Fukuhara Supermarket chain, which now operates a number of stores through Eastern Hokkaido, particularly in the Tokachi and Kushiro regions. Visitors can enjoy the collected works of prominent artists such as Itsuki Saito, Noriko Fujii, Nissho Kanda, Shinsui Ito, Taikan Yokoyama, Tamako Kataoka, Tan'yu Kano, and Kazumasa Nakagawa. The Fukuhara Memorial Museum also has lovely gardens.
