Obihiro Centennial City Museum
This facility serves as both a museum for broadly learning about the Tokachi region's history, nature, and industry, as well as a venue for creativity including pottery, music, and drama exhibitions. The museum's permanent displays include impressive earthenware artifacts excavated from the Taisho No. 3 Archaeological Site located within Obihiro City. Analysis of burnt matter adhered to some of the excavated earthenware vessels has confirmed that these are the oldest earthenware vessels ever found in Hokkaido. They are also thought to be the oldest earthenware vessels in the world which show signs of being used to cook marine products.
