Obihiro Centennial City Museum
This facility serves as a museum for visitors to learn about the Tokachi region's history, nature and industry, as well as an event venue for pottery, music, and drama exhibitions. Its permanent collections include impressive earthenware artifacts excavated from the Taisho No. 3 Archaeological Site located in Obihiro City. The researchers have confirmed that some of the excavated earthenware vessels are the oldest earthenware vessels ever found in Hokkaido by examining the burnt matter adhered to them. They are also thought to represent the oldest earthenware vessels being used to cook marine products in the world.
