Sugar beet is a source of sugar, and perhaps the best-known agricultural crop of the Tokachi region. This museum was built in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Nippon Beet Sugar Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The two-story building features lofted ceilings, with the first floor displaying a scale model of the former Obihiro Sugar Beet Factory and a variety of related materials. On the second floor, visitors will find easy-to-understand presentations about sugar beet cultivation, the sugar manufacturing process, the beet sugar industry, and the history of sugar beets.
