Kushiro Washo Market
Known as the locals' kitchen, Washo Market is a long-established market that was established in 1954 and comprises more than 50 stalls. It is famous for its Kattedon (rice topped with what you like), which customers complete themselves by buying a bowl of white rice and covering it with toppings purchased from the different fishmongers and specialist fish-roe stalls. Souvenirs also available here, as well as fresh fish, dried foods, delicacies and many other products typical of a port town.
