Kushiro Washo Market
Washo Market, a long-established market, was founded in 1954, and is known as “the locals' kitchen” in Kushiro. The market is comprised of more than 50 stalls and it is famous for Kattedon (a bowl of rice with any ingredients you like on top) which you purchase a bowl of white rice and cover it with your favorite seafood you purchase from the different fishmongers and fish-roe specialty store. You could also find fresh fish, dried foods, delicacies and many other products which are typical souvenirs at the market in the port city.
